About Us
ACRES has grown from a vision shared by nine individuals to a national movement supported by over 18,000 people—volunteers, supporters, full-time staff, and a dedicated committee—united by a common goal: to create a better world for animals.
From advocacy and education to rescue operations and investigations, ACRES has been at the forefront of raising awareness on animal protection issues often overlooked or ignored. Through it all, the organisation has stayed true to its roots—standing up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
What We Stand For
At ACRES, we are committed to advancing animal welfare and defending the rights of all animals. While conservation focuses on the survival of species and habitats, animal welfare centres on how each individual animal is treated—regardless of whether the species is endangered or common.
We believe animals are not commodities or conservation statistics—they are sentient individuals with inherent worth. This belief drives our work to end cruelty in all its forms and ensure every animal can live free from harm and suffering.
Our Vision
A world where every animal is treated with compassion, respect, and dignity.
Our Mission
To build a socially responsible society that recognises animals as sentient beings, deserving of protection from cruelty and exploitation.
Our Ambition
To lead a collaborative and sustainable animal protection movement across Asia, championing systemic change and lasting impact.
ACRES is powered by passion, backed by evidence, and grounded in the belief that every voice matters—especially those that cannot speak for themselves.
Our Objectives
To foster respect and compassion for all animals
To improve the living conditions and welfare of animals in captivity
To educate people on lifestyle choices which do not involve the abuse of animals and which are environment-friendly
